Direct Response Marketing, Digital Marketing and Strategic Business Development
Hello there, hope you are well.
Earlier this year, a local service business in Leicester came to us feeling stuck.
They weren’t lazy.
They weren’t clueless.
They had already:-
Built a decent-looking website...
Claimed and optimized their Google profile...
Posted on social media every week...
Yet they were still getting just 1 or 2 enquiries per month.
No matter what they tried, the phone barely rang. They were surviving on word of mouth and old referrals, no predictability, no peace of mind.
So we ran a complete digital audit on their business, and what we discovered wasn’t unusual, but it was costing them a lot of opportunity.
The Diagnosis:- Everything Looked “Fine” But Nothing Worked Together
On the surface, their digital presence ticked the right boxes:
Professional website
Social media presence
A few online reviews
But here’s what we saw underneath the hood:-
Disconnected Messaging:-
Their homepage and service pages were written like a brochure, “About Us,” “Why We’re Great,” and “What We Do.” None of it spoke directly to customer pain points or outcomes.
Poor Conversion Pathways:-
There were no clear CTAs (calls to action). Visitors weren’t guided anywhere. The contact form was buried in the footer and asked too many questions.
Zero Backlinks + Weak Local SEO:-
The site had no authority. There were fewer than 5 quality backlinks. Their competitors were showing up in local search, they weren’t.
No Funnel Logic:-
Social content had no real links back to lead magnets or sign-up points. Nothing was nurturing cold visitors into warm leads.
The Fix:- Here’s Exactly What We Did
We didn’t throw thousands at ads. We didn’t rebuild the site from scratch.
We simply made 3 strategic moves that connected the dots, turning existing effort into consistent enquiries.
Step 1:- Repositioned Their Messaging
We completely rewrote their homepage and core service pages.
Old Headline: “Welcome to Metri-Co Trusted Since 2014”
New Headline: “Get Printing Done Right — No Delays, No Hassle, No Guesswork.”
Everything shifted from “what we do” to “what you get.”
We also added:-
Pain-point-led subheadings
Short client testimonials above the fold
A visual “before and after” section
A benefits checklist tailored to common objections
The tone became warmer, sharper, and focused on real problems.
Step 2:- Rebuilt Conversion Flow (Without Rebuilding the Site)
Next, we restructured the homepage, contact page, and top-performing service pages:
Placed CTAs above the fold on every page
Replaced the long contact form with a quick enquiry form (Name, Email, Service Needed)
Added a lead magnet pop-up for a free audit
Created “Get a Quote” sticky buttons on mobile
We also added a case study section to prove their value with real-world results and outcomes.
Time on page increased. Bounce rate dropped. Most importantly, enquiries started to come in more consistently.
Step 3:- Launched a Local SEO + Authority Sprint
This is where many businesses fall short, they build a site but never earn authority.
Here’s how we helped them rise in search:
Created 3 blog posts targeting local keyword variations
Built citations in directories like Yell, FreeIndex, Bing, and Apple Maps
Reached out to local business blogs for backlinks (got 5 published)
Added internal links between blogs and service pages
Optimized all metadata and H1s for real search terms (e.g. “emergency boiler repair Leicester”)
We also connected Google Search Console and monitored keyword performance weekly.
By week 10, they were ranking in the top 3 for multiple local phrases.
The Result:- Organic Growth Without a Bigger Budget
+20 enquiries per month (up from 2)
Better quality leads, visitors came pre-sold on their value
Higher close rates, more visitors converting without being “sold to”
Consistent traffic from search, social, and referrals
And they spent £0 on paid advertising.
If you’ve already invested time or money into your online presence, but it still feels like you’re invisible, you’re not alone.
Most businesses don’t need a rebuild. They need alignment.
Alignment between what customers want, what your website says, and how your funnel is structured.
